Call for papers

The Tertiary Writing Network (TWN)) invites proposals for papers to be presented at its biennial colloquium to be held this year at AUT University in Auckland, New Zealand. The over-arching conference theme of “From here to there” offers many possibilities, including approaches to developing learning and the teaching of writing in areas of rhetoric and argument, composition, creative writing, discipline-specific research genres and professional genres. Some suggested sub-themes are:

  • evaluating & advancing approaches to teaching writing
  • the path from teaching or researching to presenting and publishing
  • moving towards learning outcomes: curriculum design, teaching methodology, materials, feedback & dialogue
  • the creative writing continuum
  • the critical analysis/critical thinking continuum

As usual, apart from topics inspired by this year’s theme, the conference also offers a forum for the presentation and discussion of all topics relevant to tertiary writing teachers and researchers in New Zealand and beyond.
